The album is an eclectic mix of folk, pop & rock styles ranging from Billy Joel to James Taylor to Van Morrison to John Lennon to John Denver and more. The CD mixes full band arrangements (Another Girl Like You, featuring a horn section lead by the well known Alan Rubin of the Blues Brothers) with more intimate balladeering (Wonder Why, featuring pianist George Small of John Lennon's Double Fantasy) and not to forget the cult hit, Sister Rosa (written by "The Fabulous" Mike Baker and featuring the vocal beauty of NYC's Julia Reyburn.) Yet with all its diversity each song stays true to the Kevin Merritt style: warm rich vocals, unapologetic sincerity and a passion for the deeper questions in life.
